Situated in the centre of Clonakilty Town  O'Donovan's Hotel is our favourite. It is known by the locals as "Tommies" after the name of the one of the family owners Tom O'Donovan. The self-service restaurant offers solid fayre during the day and quality table-service at night. This hotel has almost every thing except for a leisure centre. A restaurant; La Brasserie, Traditional Irish Music Bar; An Teach Beag, Lounge; The Lounge, and a nightclub with a called the Venue; which has a free cloakroom. Unusually for a town centre business it has a private carpark, although it is small.

The Lodge & Spa at Inchydoney Island

Location: Inchydoney, Clonakilty, West Cork, Ireland

The Bar food during the day is good, and there are tables and chairs outside. The accomodation is beyond our budget, but if you have an automatic Mercedes S Class that can finds its way across the causeway to Inchydoney, and you have an American Express or Diners Club card then one suit you might wish to stay here.

Dunmore House Hotel

This is a classic "wedding hotel". Located out of town away from the daily customers. It has copious bedrooms, a golf course, and an up-market restaurant.

Imperial Hotel

Location: Strand Road, Clonakilty
Phone: 023 34185
This is located on the Cork side of Clonakilty, which sounds like a receipe for success, but it lacks a carpark and atmosphere. As of 2008 the Hotel is for sale and still has no website. Reviews suggest the acoomodation is subpar. However it does offer keen prices, so it will suit some.

Fernhill House Hotel

A "wedding hotel" with a fine photo friendly garden. It has relatively few rooms, so wedding guests often stay in other other hotels and commute by hackney.

Emmet Hotel

Enjoys a fine view of Emmet Square gardens. The Restaurant has wooden floors but they are the cold modern borchure friendly type and not the aged cosy type the fine exterior promises. The bar attracts mostly residents and few locals.

Celtic Ross Hotel

This is actually in Rosscarbery village, and not Clonakilty Town, but most visitors to West Cork drive their own cars, or rental cars so the 12 minute spin which passes two petrol stations is no problem.

Quality Hotel & Leisure Centre

Part of the Quality Hotel group. This corporate hotel provides exactly what it says on the tin; a large bus friendly carpark, large conference rooms with bouncy carpets, and of course a leisure centre. But it lacks atmosphere.

The Clonakilty Hotel

Location: Wolfe Tone Street, Clonakilty, West Cork, Ireland
Phone: 023 34749
Email: reception@theclonakiltyhotel.com
Website: www.theclonakiltyhotel.com
Formerly known as Randles Hotel, the simply named "The Clonakilty Hotel" occupies a purpose built building. The ceilings are low but the carpet is soft. Perhaps too soft, and the reason is clear. This is not quite in the centre of Clonakilty thus it lacks the footfall of everyday customers.

Clonakilty Townhouse

Solid accomodation at a resonable price. Being a guesthouse though it doesn't have a Bar or Restaurant, so you'll need to walk North for a few minutes to Pearse Street (the Main Street of Clonakilty).

Thank you
